Nessy - Reading and Spelling Support for Years 1 to 6
The company that produce the Nessy computer learning program have given us some free licences so that all children in Year 1 to Year 6 can access Nessy at home whilst schools are closed.
Nessy can be used to support all pupils in reading and spelling, whether they have a barrier to their learning or not. The child takes an initial assessment so that the computer program can work out where the gaps are in their learning. These gaps are then targeted using a series of fun lessons. It is very important the child works independently on Nessy.
If you would like your child's user name and password, please contact your child's class teacher via class dojo message. Teachers are available each week on Monday and Wednesday between 2- 3pm.

FunnyBones - Mystery Tour

When we first started in Kingfishers our topic was "Marvellous Me". We kicked off our English by learning this Funny Bones story and then we wrote our own versions.

2 Times Table Song (Learning is Fun The Todd & Ziggy Way!)

This is the two times tables song that we listen to to help us remember our times tables. It is great fun and gets us up and moving.

Life in a castle

During our "Life in a Castle" topic, the children enjoyed visitors from Norwich castle. They came to talk to us about what life would have been like hundreds of years ago. Our day was split into two sessions. The first was making a pennant which would have been used to show your support for a knight during a jousting match. We learnt all about jousting and even had a go at the end. The second session we learnt all about items that you would have found in the castle. We had to guess which items belonged to the king and which were the servants. It was quite tricky to even know what some of the items were used for! Our favourite part was learning that the king had a servant to wipe his bottom with a sponge on a long stick!

Whatever the weather - Autumn

The children enjoyed learning about the different seasons. They were asked to bring in things that showed us it was Autumn.

Welcome to Kingfishers!
