If any member of your household experiences symptoms of Covid-19 you must call 119 to arrange a test and inform the school. You must isolate for 14 days along with your household. Please inform the school of the outcome of the test. If your test results come back negative your child can return to school before the 14 day period ends. If the test is positive, please continue to follow NHS guidelines.

What does your child learn at school each day?

At St. Christopher’s we follow the national curriculum published in 2014. Each year group maps out the objectives and topics on a long term plan to ensure there is a progression in skills and knowledge as pupils move through the years. Wherever possible, we aim to ensure the curriculum is cross-curricular and has opportunities beyond the confines of the classroom to enrich each pupil’s experience. The curriculum overviews for each term and the long term plans are published below.

In Early Years and KS1 we aim to ensure the children have experience of reading as wide a range of books as possible rather than follow one specific reading scheme. Therefore, children read books from the following schemes:

  • Oxford Reading Tree
  • Dandelion Launchers
  • Collins Big Cat Reading Scheme

If you would like to find out more about your child's learning, please don't hesitate to contact their class teacher or the Deputy Head who is responsible for teaching and learning.
